Face toner

My night ritual includes cleansing my face with a toner made of apple cider vinegar and rose hydrolate (You can also use plain water). To do so, I use homemade cotton pads.

The apple cider vinegar cleanses the pores and thight them up for a clearer skin. The rose hydrolate soothes sensitive skin.

After, I spray the rose hydrolate and then apply my special night cream.

No Poo

It has been more than tree years now that I only use baking soda as a shampoo.

I wash my hair once a week, yes once-per-week, with only a mix of baking soda and water.

I make a thin paste and rub my scalp with it. I try not to rub it on my lengths because it dries them.

I let it sit while I wash my body.

Then I wash off all the “saltiness” off my hair and scalp. I have long hair so it takes a while !

Then I apply a mix of apple cider vinegar, water and essential oil. Massaging my scalp and hair.

I use different scent of essential oil depending on my mood. But I usually stick with either Ylang Ylang or Rosemary. They’re my favourite.

Do you still use bought shampoo? Have you tried baking soda in your hair? Have you tried any other homemade recipes? Did they work? What kind of essential oil do you use?

Tell me about your experience, I want to know!

Every time possible, ideally every day, I take time to meditate. 15 to 20 minutes.

For me, it’s before I start my day or before the kids come back from shool.

Early morning helps me set up a great mood and focus for the day.

In the afternoon, it helps go through the rest of the day and be more mindful with my kids.

I meditate with a mantra. I had gone to the Maarichi’s school of meditation and got a personal mantra. But I also use other mantra according to what I want to work on. And sometimes, I just follow and concentrate on my breath trying to be mindful.

Either way, it’s very good for my health and wellbeing.
